![]() ![]() Ann Ludwig, Professor, is Director of Graduate Studies in Dance. Her teaching responsibilities include graduate choreography and philosophy and criticism of dance. As Artistic Director of A Ludwig Dance Theatre, she has received wide acclaim for her choreography which has been seen throughout the United States and Portugal and in Germany and Mexico. The NY Times writes "Ludwig's pieces careen through a wide assortment of female responses in theatre-dance that has all the ragged, irrational reasonableness of life lived slightly below the polite formalities." Winner of numerous awards, grants and commissions, Ms. Ludwig has produced over 80 works since 1970. Before coming to Arizona in 1979, She served on the faculty at the University of Kansas, San Diego State University, and University of Iowa, where she chaired the Dance Program. In 1985 she was the recipient of the Arizona Governor's Award for Women Who Create and was named to the Tempe list of All-American Women. Her current work, the evening-length Issues and Attributions, is preceeded by a lecture, Dances Women Make: Issues on Stage.
